The NSS Units of Sir Theagaraya College, Chennai, actively participated in the National Pulse Polio Immunization Day programme organized by the Greater Chennai Corporation, Government of Tamil Nadu, in collaboration with the Primary Health Centres and Hospitals of Old Washermenpet and Sanjeevirayanpet, Chennai. The programme aimed to support the Government’s mission of eradicating polio by ensuring that every eligible child received the polio vaccine. NSS volunteers assisted health officials in organizing immunization booths, creating public awareness, guiding parents, and encouraging community participation. The initiative reinforced the importance of immunization, public health awareness, and community service in building a healthier and polio-free society.
