The PG Department of Zoology was recognized for pursuing Research in 1982 by University of Madras. The department has all the necessary infrastructure and instrumentation facilities for research scholars. The broad areas of research include aquaculture, ecotoxicology, entomology and pathophysiology. More than 40 research scholars were awarded with PhD degree in Zoology.
